Grainne Lydon

Grainne Lydon is a Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist with experience supporting children and young people with neurodevelopmental and sensory needs.

Grainne is HCPC registered and works with children, young people, families, and schools across clinic and educational settings. She specialises in supporting children experiencing challenges related to sensory processing, autism, ADHD, developmental coordination difficulties (including dyspraxia),trauma, attachment, and emotional regulation. She also has experience completing assessments and writing reports for Education and Health Care Plan Assessments.

Grainne takes a neuro-affirming, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach to practice. She is passionate about understanding the underlying reasons behind behaviour, recognising how sensory processing, nervous system regulation, interoception, and relationships can all influence a child’s ability to engage, learn, and participate in everyday life.

Her work combines clinical observation, assessment, and collaborative problem-solving to identify barriers to participation and develop practical, meaningful strategies that support children across home, school, and community environments. 

Grainne has completed postgraduate training and has a special interest in sensory integration, interoception, trauma-informed practice, and attachment. 

Alongside direct clinical work, Grainne also provides consultation, training, and coaching for parents, schools, and professionals, helping to create more inclusive, supportive, and sensory-aware environments.
